Blind Corner Cabinet Size Chart: Dimensions, Fillers and Door Clearance

Separate cabinet footprint from allocated run, wall pull, filler and usable access. Compare wall and base blind-corner references with plan-view diagrams.

The cabinet box is only part of the corner footprint

Blind-corner planning needs four separate measurements: the box, its allocated wall run, the filler at the adjacent run, and the usable door opening. A cabinet code or door-front section width cannot supply all four.

Base and wall blind-corner cabinets use different layouts. Use the charts below to identify known catalog dimensions and the measurements to obtain before ordering or designing a pull-out.

Blind-corner base cabinet size chart

The reviewed Berta reference descriptions identify BBC39 and BBC42 left/right layouts and state the allocated-run ranges below. They do not provide a complete verified cabinet drawing. The numbers in a model name should not be substituted for a measured footprint.

Berta base blind-corner reference data. A wall-run allocation is not the same dimension as the cabinet’s physical width.
Reference model Cabinet footprint / height Allocated run along wall Front section Wall pull and filler Accessible opening / blind section
BBC39L / BBC39R 39-class model code; exact box W, D and H require the model drawing. 42–45 in (1066.8–1143 mm) Listed door/drawer section: 15 in. Not a clear aperture. Minimum listed wall pull: 3 in. Separate adjacent-run filler recommended, not included; width must be confirmed. Not dimensioned in the reviewed text. Request clear opening with door and hardware installed.
BBC42L / BBC42R 42-class model code; exact box W, D and H require the model drawing. 45–48 in (1143–1219.2 mm) Listed door/drawer section: 18 in. Not a clear aperture. Same minimum 3 in pull; do not relabel that value as a universal filler width. Verify opening, internal obstructions and usable blind compartment.

Availability gate: both Berta blind-corner product families were hidden in the catalog at review. Treat these as reference model checks and confirm whether the required configuration is currently offered before designing an order around it.

Blind-corner wall cabinet size chart

Wall heights differ; the reviewed nominal plan footprint remains 30 × 12 inches.
Reference model Listed W × H × D Nominal plan footprint Front section / access Filler and swing checks
WCC3030 30 × 30 × 12 in 30 × 12 in; 762 × 304.8 mm Approximately 15 in functional door section. Clear usable opening is not specified. Wall filler required, not included. Confirm width, adjacent fronts and hinge/handle sweep.
WCC3036 30 × 36 × 12 in Same listed footprint Same approximate front-section description; verify model opening. Confirm filler and door motion at the actual installation height.
WCC3042 30 × 42 × 12 in Same listed footprint Same distinction between front section and actual aperture. Check ceiling/crown clearance as well as the corner.

Do not subtract a 15-inch door section from the overall 30-inch cabinet width and call the remainder the clear blind storage width. Frames, side panels, partition position, overlap and hardware change the usable dimensions. Ask for the interior drawing and an unobstructed opening measurement.

Wall-cabinet size does not transfer to the base cabinet below. A visually aligned corner can still need different fillers and door-clearance allowances at the two levels. Where the upper run crosses an opening, use the separate bridge wall cabinet size chart.

Plan views: wall pull is not the same as filler

Base-cabinet concept. Wall pull changes where the box begins along its wall; the highlighted filler belongs to the adjacent front/run. Drawings are not to scale.
Blind-corner wall cabinet plan showing nominal footprint and clearance checks
Wall-cabinet concept. The listed 30-inch width and 12-inch depth describe the reference footprint, not the filler or clear access opening.

Sketch the corner from above before looking at the door elevation. Mark both finished walls, the box outline and the adjacent cabinet’s front plane. Add the wall pull, filler, end-panel thickness and the swept outlines of doors and handles as separate items.

A typical planning relationship is allocated run = cabinet body width + wall pull where that is how the manufacturer defines its run dimension. Additional finished panels or installation details may be counted differently. Verify the definition before adding or subtracting dimensions; do not double-count a pull already included in a stated allocation.

The 3-inch distinction: the reviewed base description requires a minimum 3-inch pull from the wall. It also calls for a separate filler without specifying one universal width. These are two different locations and must not be collapsed into a single “3-inch clearance.”

Measure the opening a hand, basket or pull-out must pass through

A front section can include a door, frame margins or a drawer face. What matters for access is the unobstructed opening after the door has reached the permitted angle. Hinges, handles, stiles and the door itself can reduce that opening.

Record clear dimensions rather than estimating from the outside door.
Access dimension What to measure
Clear width Narrowest pass-through width with the door open to its allowed angle.
Clear height Space between the lower obstruction and the upper frame, drawer or hinge obstruction.
Clear depth Unobstructed path into the cabinet, including shelves, partitions and service intrusions.
Blind compartment Actual usable interior beyond the accessible section—not the external footprint.
Pull-out envelope The accessory manufacturer’s entire entry, mounting and moving envelope.

For a blind-corner pull-out, compare the exact accessory drawing with these measurements and confirm handedness. A tray that fits inside the empty box can still fail to pass the door or swing around the adjacent cabinet. Do not select a mechanism from overall cabinet width alone. For a narrow straight pull-out instead, use the separate spice-rack cabinet size and clearance guide.

Check handedness, door sweep and drawer clearance together

Use the manufacturer’s L/R diagram to identify the blind side and accessible side. Naming conventions are not universal: describe the corner on a plan, not just as “left opening.” Photograph the intended wall and mark the hinge side, neighboring cabinet and direction of access.

Include the complete handles and pulls in the motion check. A door edge can clear an adjacent cabinet while its handle collides with the next drawer. A base blind-corner unit with a drawer also needs a straight path for that drawer and its pull. Test both neighboring fronts, not only the blind-corner door.

A wider-opening hinge is not an automatic cure. The cabinet’s hinge mounting, overlay, allowed angle and door construction must all permit it. This article concerns the cabinet footprint; the Lazy Susan hinge guide explains a different corner-door hardware problem and should not be used as a substitute blind-corner plan.

For front alignment after the correct hardware and layout have been selected, refer to the cabinet hinge adjustment diagram. Adjustment cannot create a missing filler or repair an undersized opening.

Coordinate the rest of the cabinet run

A corner decision affects the remaining wall length, drawer access and countertop support. Confirm it before locking in adjacent sizes. For the visual style, read the Shaker cabinet design guide. For base height and floor variation, use cabinet base leveling and toe-kick planning. Both are separate from corner footprint approval.

Frequently asked questions

Is a BBC39 cabinet always exactly 39 inches wide?

Do not rely on the code alone. The reviewed description supplies a 42–45-inch allocated-run range, but a complete verified body footprint must come from the exact model drawing.

Does a 15-inch door section provide 15 inches of clear access?

Not necessarily. Frames, hinges, door thickness and opening angle can reduce the pass-through opening. Measure the narrowest clear aperture.

Are wall pull and filler interchangeable terms?

No. Pull locates the blind cabinet away from the corner wall. A filler at the adjacent run helps establish front spacing and clearance; its required width is a separate check.

Can I install a Lazy Susan hinge to fix a blind-corner layout?

Not as a generic solution. Confirm the actual cabinet-door system and approved hardware. A hinge change does not alter the cabinet footprint or create a missing filler.

Catalog basis and limits

The charts summarize Berta’s reviewed WCC3030/3036/3042 and BBC39/BBC42 reference descriptions. Both product families require an availability check. Dimensions not established by those descriptions are explicitly left for the approved drawing. Request the current cabinet specification before ordering. Plan views are educational schematics, not scaled installation plans.
