The width describes the strip that covers the panel edge, not the thickness of the sheet. Check the actual panel thickness before ordering.

Side-by-side selection

Preglued vs. non-glued edge banding

Select the adhesive system first. A longer roll or a lower price per foot does not make different materials interchangeable.

Choose the edge by the panel face, not just the core

Matte and gloss colored MDF

For solid-color cabinet fronts, use the non-glued plastic range to compare colors and finish levels with Acrylic MDF panels. The product guide links each color to its matte and high-gloss panel options.

Measure width, exposed edges and roll quantity

01 · Check the panel edge

The listed width is nominally 7/8 inch, approximately 22 mm. Measure the actual sheet and allow trimming overhang. Strip thickness—0.45 mm or 1 mm—is a separate dimension.

02 · Mark only the edges you will band

A shelf with one visible front edge needs less banding than a slab door finished on all four sides. Add exposed edge lengths across all parts, then include a waste allowance suited to your process.

03 · Round up to full rolls

Divide planned linear feet by the selected roll length and round up. A 250 ft preglued roll and a 300 ft machine roll are different purchase units. For multiple colors, calculate each color separately.

Edge-banding collection questions

Which roll should I choose without a glue-applying edgebander?

Start with the preglued products and check that your heat-application method is suitable. The white roll is listed for iron-on application. The non-glued plastic roll does not include adhesive and is not a peel-and-stick or ready-to-iron-on substitute.

Does 7/8-inch edge banding mean it is for a 7/8-inch board?

No. It describes the band’s nominal width. The strip should cover the actual board edge with enough extra width for trimming; a nominal panel size is not a substitute for measuring the sheet.

Can edge banding make plywood or MDF waterproof?

Do not treat edge banding as a waterproofing system. Suitability depends on the board, adhesive, installation and exposure. Discuss wet-service or exterior requirements before specifying these products.

Can I buy edge banding with plywood or MDF sheets?

You can plan the materials together. Review the roll and sheet product pages, then check delivery or pickup options for the complete order. Plywood and MDF delivery requirements apply to sheet goods; do not assume roll-only and sheet orders have the same shipping arrangements.
