Compare what arrives—not just the cabinet’s headline price
RTA pantry cabinets arrive with some level of cabinet assembly still required; pre-assembled pantry cabinets arrive with the cabinet box assembled. Neither description means the cabinet is installed, anchored or ready to load in your kitchen.

Assembly format does not establish material grade or quality. An RTA cabinet can use quality components, and an assembled cabinet can still need careful squareness, hardware and finish checks. Compare construction, warranty and component specifications separately from the shipping format.
What the reviewed Berta pantry range includes
The current pantry product is described as Classic Shaker, pre-assembled. It lists 18, 24 and 30-inch widths with 84 and 90-inch height options. The 18-inch models have two doors; the 24 and 30-inch models have four doors.
The description lists three roll-out trays, one lower shelf and two upper shelves. Confirm the selected SKU’s packing list, tray installation state, door handing and included mounting hardware rather than assuming every accessory arrives adjusted for the final room.

Delivery and handling: order the service, not an assumption
Ask separately about handling time before dispatch and transit time after the carrier collects the shipment. Also confirm whether the estimate is in business days and whether appointments or delivery exceptions can change it. An assembled cabinet is not automatically slower or faster; current stock, production and the service booked determine the schedule.
Confirm the delivery endpoint. Curbside, threshold, room-of-choice and installation are different services. Do not assume liftgate service includes moving a tall cabinet up steps, around a tight hallway or into its final position. Establish unloading responsibilities and equipment before the truck arrives.
For pickup, check the actual packaged size, weight and approved transport orientation with the supplier. A vehicle’s advertised cargo volume does not establish that a rigid pantry box can pass through its door opening.
Plan assistance for the real packaged weight. Do not attempt to move a tall, heavy cabinet alone or treat removable shelves, trays or doors as structural lifting points. Follow the supplier’s handling instructions and use appropriate professional help.
Measure the access route and the tilt-up space
Check the narrowest doorway, stair landing, hallway turn and room-entry path using the actual packaged dimensions. Include handles, projecting fittings and protective packaging. A cabinet that fits in the room may still be impossible to carry through the route.
An assembled tall cabinet may also need room to rotate from a tilted or horizontal position to upright. For a simple rectangular box rotating in a vertical plane, its theoretical maximum vertical envelope is the diagonal of its height and depth:
For an illustrative 90-inch-tall, 24-inch-deep rectangle, that diagonal is about 93.15 inches. These are example dimensions, not a depth specification for a Berta pantry. The figure also excludes packaging, feet, projections, handling space and the actual rotation method.
Measure the real cabinet and route, and have the installer verify the maneuver. Do not rely on a ceiling that is merely taller than the final upright cabinet. Conversely, do not assume an RTA cabinet can be assembled upright in any confined space; the assembly instructions may require another orientation or access around the panels.

If you will assemble the cabinet yourself, record the time, work area, tools and ability to follow the manufacturer’s sequence. If an installer will do it, request a quote that separates assembly from installation. The less expensive box is not necessarily the less expensive completed project.

Have the order confirmation and packing list ready. Check model, size, color, component count and visible condition. Photograph packaging and any apparent damage, and follow the seller/carrier’s stated inspection and reporting process rather than assuming a generic deadline applies.
Keep identifying labels and the relevant packaging until inspection and the supplier’s claim requirements are resolved. Do not install a damaged or incorrect cabinet merely to meet a project date. Confirm any proposed repair or replacement with the supplier first.
Before loading shelves or roll-outs, complete the specified support, anchoring and adjustment checks. Store the model drawing, hardware information and approved finish sample for future maintenance.
