Matte & Glossy Edge Banding for Acrylic MDF Panels
For slab doors, drawer fronts and finished cabinet panels, color and sheen are separate choices. Compare this non-glued plastic strip with the actual panel, then test your adhesive and trimming setup.
Choose sheen before comparing the color
Matte edge banding
Start here for low-reflection panel faces. White, black, cashmere and gray surfaces can still differ in texture or tone even when both products are described as matte.
Glossy edge banding
Start here when the panel has a reflective face. Gloss banding is the relevant option to compare with high-gloss Acrylic MDF; check the reflection at the edge as well as the face color.

Compare the white face
For a white plywood cabinet box, compare the appropriate white strip with the selected melamine face. Do not choose Gloss solely because the panel is white.

The plywood face is not the same product as Light Gray Acrylic MDF. Compare its actual sheen and texture against matte and gloss banding before choosing.

Acrylic MDF samples
A panel sample helps you inspect the actual face. Confirm the edge strip against an offcut or sample of the banding as well; a panel sample alone cannot certify the complete match.

Here, no glue means the strip is supplied without a pre-applied adhesive. A compatible adhesive is still required during installation. The product is not identified as laser, hot-air or other zero-joint banding, and it should not be specified as one on the basis of its name.
The current product is listed as plastic. Confirm the polymer and adhesive requirements when your machine, tender or project calls for a particular PVC, ABS or other material specification. A matching color does not establish that the material will suit every process.
Allow for the finished edge in your cutting list
Check feed direction, adhesive compatibility, pressure, trimming and corner cleanup using your machine and adhesive supplier’s settings. Do not choose a temperature or feed speed from the panel color. For mixed-color work, calculate footage for each roll separately so total footage does not hide a shortfall in one finish.
Questions about non-glued plastic banding
Can I iron this non-glued roll straight onto a panel?
Not as supplied. There is no pre-applied adhesive to activate. The intended workflow uses separately applied compatible adhesive and suitable equipment. For an adhesive-backed white roll, compare the white preglued option.
Does gloss banding mean the strip itself is acrylic?
No. Gloss describes the surface appearance, not the polymer. This listing describes plastic banding; Acrylic MDF describes the related panel. Confirm material specifications separately when they matter to your project.
Can one Light Gray strip be assumed to match every Light Gray panel?
No. Color names across product ranges are not color standards. Compare the face and strip under the same lighting, and approve a finished test edge before production.
Can I use this as a substitute for 2 mm banding?
Not without reviewing the design and machine setup. This product is listed as 1 mm thick. Edge profile, trimming, finished sizes and the specified construction may differ from a 2 mm system.
How do I order both matte and gloss for one project?
Add the required color and finish as separate product selections. Each roll is one 300 ft unit. Calculate matte and gloss requirements independently, even when the color name is the same.
Specify the panel, band and process as a set.
Before a full production run, approve a test piece for color, sheen, bond and finished dimensions.
